Donna MoreinMezzo-soprano Donna Morein, a native Philadelphian, has built an impressive career on the operatic and concert stages of the U.S., Europe and Asia. Since her debut at the Lyric Opera of Chicago and her European debut at the Zurich Opera, she has performed with the New York City Opera, New Jersey State Opera, Sante Fe Opera, and major companies in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, and Israel. She earned critical acclaim for her portrayals of Adalgisa (Norma), Azucena (Trovatore), Eboli (Don Carlo), Brangane (Tristan und Isolde), Fricka and Waltraute (Wagner's Ring), Ortrud (Lohengrin), the Nurse (Frau ohne Schatten) and Klytamnestra (Elektra). Her work on the concert stage includes works of Bach, Verdi, Mahler, and Shostakovich. Ms. Morein received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Temple University, where she studied with Klara Meyers. She won the Concorso Internationale Per Cantati in Treviso, Italy and the Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition.
