Michelle Rosen, Principal Bassoon of The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, graduated from The Curtis Institute of Music, where she was a student of Bernard Garfield. She has appeared as soloist with The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, performed at the New York String Orchestra Seminar at Carnegie Hall, the Spoleto Festival, Evian Festival, and in Orchestra 2001, Pennsylvania Ballet, and the Delaware Symphony. She has worked with such conductors as Sir Simon Rattle, Andre Previn, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Yuri Temirkanov, and David Zinman. Ms. Rosen teaches bassoon at the University of Pennsylvania and the Haddonfield School of Performing Arts, conducts woodwind sectionals for the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, and has served on the faculties of Immaculata College and Temple University Music Prep where she launched and directed the woodwind chamber music program. She has recorded for Warner Bros., and EMI under the direction of André Previn.
