Shelley ShowersShelley Showers joined The Philadelphia Orchestra in 1997. She was previously Acting Principal Horn of the Cleveland Orchestra, Principal Horn of the Utah Symphony, and a member of the New Jersey Symphony and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. She can be heard on the Cleveland Orchestra’s Grammy Award-winning recording of Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique with conductor Pierre Boulez. Ms. Showers has performed solo recitals at the International Horn Symposium and at the International Women’s Brass Conference, and chamber music at Deer Valley International Chamber Music Festival, Nova Series, and Utah Music Festival. She has performed and taught at the Aspen Music Festival, Kent Blossom Music Festival, and was a faculty member of the Cleveland Institute of Music. A native of Lancaster, PA, Ms. Showers received her Bachelor of Music from the Curtis Institute of Music, where she studied with Mason Jones, Myron Bloom, Nolan Miller, Randy Gardner, and Stephanie Fauber. She serves on the Boards of The Philadelphia Orchestra and Curtis Institute of Music.
