Yumi Kendall is Assistant Principal Cello of The Philadelphia Orchestra. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Curtis Institute of Music, where she studied with cellist David Soyer of the Guarneri String Quartet. She served as principal cello in the Haddonfield Symphony and the American Youth Philharmonic. She made her concerto debut with the National Symphony Orchestra and has performed at festivals such as the Summer Music Institute at the Kennedy Center, the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Music from Angel Fire, the Verbier Festival, the Taos School of Music (NM), and the Marlboro Music Festival. Ms. Kendall is a member of the Dryden String Quartet.
